Corpus Christi Church
Construction of the temple began in 1342 and continued for several years, after which it stopped and resumed again in the 60's of the 14th century. Legend says that king Kazimierz the Great miraculously found the host and the monstrance, stolen from the All Saints' collegiate, which led to building of the church. The construction ended in 1405, the same year king Wladyslaw Jagiello brought members of the Canons Regular of the Lateran Congregation from Klodzk. The order took care of the temple from that moment.
The interior of the temple is an astonishing mixture of the raw Gothic style and baroque sculptures. It has a beautiful boat-shaped ambo and a statue of the crucified Jesus from the 18th century.
John Paul II raised the status of the church to basilica minor on 24th of January 2005.
